An application dedicated to Radcliffe Bailey:
Ex-semi-pro baseball player turned sculpture major at Atlanta College of Art, Radcliffe Bailey (b. 1968) has been addressing history and heritage through his collages and installations. Having lived in Atlanta since the age of 4, Bailey narrates both personal experiences and collective memories intertwined in his works. His influences include music and the legacy of the Black Atlantic; he recently traced his maternal DNA to the Mende people of Sierra Leone. Bailey continues to investigate history on a local and a broad level, as he believes that "my history is your history. Its beyond black and white. Its all different types of people."
